Luz Flores, Programs Manager
Luz Flores serves as the Programs Manager. Luz has been working in nonprofit agencies since 1995, prior she worked as a school teacher for LAUSD. Luz is an experienced non-profit program manager and is responsible for grant and program management, programs daily operations, staff, mentors & volunteer management, recruitment and public relations. She is a graduate of Cal State Dominguez Hills and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and is a certified trainer in First Aid/CPR/AED and Conflict Resolution.

Karen Martinez, Case Manager
Karen Martinez serves as our Lead Case Manager. Karen provides individualized training and educational plans to each student in the program, she addresses barriers to education and employment by providing case management and referrals in collaboration with community partners. Karen assists students with applications and entrance exams for post-secondary education and vocational training and employment. Karen is an experienced case manager that creates success in our program by being committed to transformation and commitment to the success of our students. She is a graduate of UCLA and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.
Jennifer Owen, Case Manager
Jennifer Owen serves as our Case Manager. Jennifer is an experienced case manager that was an Emergency Medical Technician as well as worked in mental health facilities for many years before joining WINTER. Now is a Case Manager at WINTER, Jennifer finds fulfillment in working with other members of the team to ensure women in the program receive all the resources necessary to eliminate any barriers to employment. She knows how important it is to help participants and addresses any barriers they may have. Jennifer's favorite part of her job is working with our partner’s case managers and social workers, as well as interacting with participants and graduates on a regular basis.
Laura Veloz, Lead Academic Teacher
Laura Veloz serves as our Lead Teacher. Laura is an experienced educator who works with teachers, administrators and parents to help both teachers and students have a positive, productive school experience. She holds a multi-subject HS credential and supervises thematic and collaborative academic program and after school support. She provides direction in areas like course planning, professional development, special education, standardized testing improvement and other subjects. She holds a master’s degree in education from UCLA.

Ryan Mullins, Workforce Pathways Coach
